Background Checks for Field Trips & Volunteering

To ensure the safety of all students, the Baldwin County Board of Education (BCBE) requires all adults who wish to volunteer at school or attend a field trip to complete the BCBE Volunteer Background Check process. 

If you plan to:

• Chaperone a field trip
• Volunteer in your child's classroom
• Help at school events during the school day
• Participate in other volunteer opportunities at Rosinton Elementary

You must have an approved BCBE Volunteer Background Check before participating.

We love having families involved at Rosinton Elementary! Completing your background check ahead of time ensures you're ready to:

• Chaperone field trips
• Volunteer in classrooms
• Assist with school events
• Support students and teachers throughout the year

3. Complete the online application
4. Submit your information
5. Wait for your application to be processed and approved

We encourage families to complete this process as early as possible, even if you do not currently have plans to volunteer or go on a field trip. Approval can take time, and completing it early ensures you're ready when opportunities arise.

Teachers and Office Staff Cannot Check Your Status

Please note that Rosinton Elementary teachers & office staff do NOT have access to your background check information. 

The school is UNABLE to:

View your application

Check the status of your application

Speed up the approval process

Reset your account or password

If you have questions about your application or want to check its status, you must log back into your Secure Volunteer account using your own username and password.

How Do I Know If I'm Approved?

Your approval status is available through your Secure Volunteer account. Simply log in to view your current status.

If you experience technical issues or have questions about your application, please contact Secure Volunteer using the support information provided on their website.

 

 

 

 

Do I need a background check every year?

Please follow the instructions provided in your Secure Volunteer account. If your background check expires or requires renewal, you will be notified through the system.

How long does approval take?

Processing times vary throughout the year. We recommend submitting your application well before any planned volunteer activity or field trip.

Can I go on a field trip if I submit my application the week before?

Not necessarily. Your application must be fully approved before you can participate. We cannot guarantee approval before a specific event.

Can the school approve my application?

No. All volunteer background checks are processed through the BCBE Secure Volunteer system, not by Rosinton Elementary.

Is there a fee?

Any applicable fees and payment information will be provided during the online application process.
