MTSS (Multi-Tiered System of Supports)

At Rosinton Elementary School, we are committed to ensuring that every student receives the support they need to achieve success. Through our Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS), we use a collaborative, data-driven approach to identify student needs, provide high-quality instruction and targeted interventions, and monitor student progress to help every child reach their full potential.

Our MTSS team partners with teachers, families, and support staff to make informed decisions that promote student growth while fostering a positive, safe, and supportive learning environment. By providing the right support at the right time, we strive to ensure every student has the opportunity to succeed.

The following is the official Alabama Department of Education definition of the Alabama Multi-Tiered System of Supports (AL-MTSS):

[Alabama Multi-Tier System of Supports (AL-MTSS) is a comprehensive and prevention-based framework that encompasses the academic, behavioral, and foundational wellness needs including physical and mental health to support the whole child and is aligned to the Alabama Achieves Strategic Plan. Al-MTSS uses a proactive, team-driven approach that engages all stakeholders (state, regional, district, school community, family, and students) to ensure access to opportunities that will improve outcomes for Every Child, Every Chance, Every Day.

The purpose of AL-MTSS is to implement and sustain a continuum of evidence-based practices, instruction, supports, and intervention that align with the wide range of needs of all students and eliminate barriers to helping children find success in school and their lives thereafter. Data is utilized at all levels to ensure , safe, positive and personalized support that assists all students along their educational journey.

AL-MTSS is supportive of and responsive to overall continuous improvement processes currently in place at the school and district levels and can be tailored to meet the realities in the individual classroom.]
